8 years ago today...

8 years ago today was a day that changed my life forever. 8 years ago today I became an initiated sister of Delta Zeta at Clarion University. I remember that morning surprisingly well and the feelings I felt inside, like I was about to become part of something so incredibly amazing. And it was.

You see, I wanted to transfer out of school my first semester, wanted to pack up my stuff and go home. College just wasn't working for me.

Delta Zeta changed all of that.

When I walked into that DZ House for the first time (with my glittery pink sweater) I felt like I was exactly where I was meant to be.

When the whole chapter showed up to my work to give me my bid I felt like I finally belonged to something.

When I could just walk into my sister's apartments without knocking I felt like I had a family away from home.

When no matter what day, time or reason I always, always had someone to laugh with, to cry with, or to eat with :0) I knew what it meant to have a sister.

When one of my sister's called to ask me to be in her wedding I felt overwhelmed with joy and love.

I don't know who I would be if I wasn't a Delta Zeta woman. I do know that I would have never ever survived college without my sisters. Delta Zeta taught me to be strong, determined and to stand up for what I believe in. Delta Zeta helped me find out who I really am and there is nothing I can ever do to repay the women that have touched my life in so many ways.

Always remember, it's not four years, it's a lifetime.

DZ love but mostly mine,

  1. aww ! That's great that you have memories to cherish forever. I wasn't in a sorority, but I still made livelong girlfriends in college too ;)
