Lots of Changes

I am alive and well, however, still recovering from surgery (I'm at week 4 still can't wear a normal shoe) however that is not what I am writing about....lots of changes coming our way this week. WE ARE MOVING!!!!!!! If you've been reading for a while you know 2 things. I have always wanted to live closer to my family and I have always wanted to be an event planner. Well as of this Friday that will be a reality. I am really excited but will admit it was a very difficult decision. I really didn't want to pack up and move again but I know it is what is best for us. The unfortunate part of it is that Josh and I will be living separately for a little while. He is going to stay with his parents and I am going to live with my step-moms mom so we can save up some money. So that is the neweest update in our crazy life...stay posted for more updates as they come :)

My weight loss journey...

I have always been a "chubby" girl, even as a little kid I remember just being bigger than all the other girls at school. I talked about my new year resolution in this post and my progress so far. At that point I had felt like I made it mostly through the holidays and was still down 25 lbs.

Then came January, I was so over the cold weather, stopped working out and was just being lazy. I wasn't gaining weight I just wasn't really losing weight or doing anything that made me feel good about myself.

I was doing Weight Watchers on my own with just the books my mom had left over from when she did it a long time ago. Then all the J-Hudson commercials came out about the new points plus program and I thought maybe this is the new thing to get me rejuvenated so of course it was the new year so they had a discount to sign up for the 3 month on-line program. So I signed up along with a co-worker and thought I can do this :)

Well today I hit my 5% goal weight (I have lost in total 34 pounds) which I never ever thought I could do. I set a new goal- 10% and an hoping that my recent foot surgery doesn't ruin my plans but I am so happy to be doing this, the right way and for the right reasons. If you ever have thought about doing weight watchers I totally recommend it. It does work and I am proof!

*Weight Watchers did not endorse this message it's just me telling you my experience*

Thoughts of Spring Blog Party

Photobucket

Wow when I am home recovering all day I sure am a great blogger!

My name is Jessica but most of my friends and family call me Jess I have been blogging for about 2 years now I started when I moved about 3 hours away from "home" as a way to sort of my feelings of being away from family, not really liking my job and living with my boyfriend and all the fun that came with it :0) We live in Northwest Ohio (for now) and are still just trying to figure out life. Thanks for stopping by!

How would people describe your personality? (If they could only use ONE word.) Are they right? I think people would say I am spunky and they are totally right. I have some spunk and definitely say some things that most people wouldn't say but I guess that what happens when you work with college students all day.

What celebrity/celebrities would create a “Star-Struck” feeling if you saw them in real life? I think any celebrity would make me feel Star Stuck. I saw Al Roker from the Today Show at the Las Vegas airport last year and got a little excited and I am not even home to watch the Today show. I am such a nerd

What is your comfort food/drink? My comfort foods are mac and cheese and peanut butter and jelly because apparently I am four years old when I need comfort but they are just soo yummy!

Be brave – tell us something very random and weird about yourself. I love routine. I get annoyed when anything is out of place in my day and although I love me some weekend sometimes it just throws me off and I am all out of wack. I have to have a plan, a schedule and I am so not spontaneous. I really hate it about myself but oh well

Do you have a strong desire to do something you’ve never done? What is it? There are a lot. Some of them are on my 30 things to do before I am 20 list some are still floating around in my head. Most of them involve tackling a fear I have.

If you inherited a million dollars, what is the first thing you would do with your money? The absolute first thing I would do is pay off my student loan it's not a huge amount but it stresses me out that I owe money to it but such is life.

Name one weakness of yours (confession is good for the soul). I think a weakness of mine is that I am emotional. I tend to cry at just about everything and I think it makes people think I am weak but I am not.

If you could live anywhere at all (and take all your loved ones with you), where would you go? Outer Banks, NC. Love it there!

What’s something you consider yourself to be good at? (Don’t worry, it’s not bragging, it’s acknowledging a God given gift). I think I am really good at event planning and organizing events. I hope to do it full time one day.

What is one of your favorite things to catch a whiff of? Baby shampoo or babies right when they come out of a bath...random I know but its just smells soooo good

If money wasn’t a factor, what stores would you shop in? I think I would still shop in the same stores I do now (Old Navy, JCPenney, Target) I would just buy more stuff :)

What is your greatest fear or strange phobia? I think my greatest physical fear is driving in snow.I am trying so hard to get over it but it is hard. I grew up in the snow belt but it just scares me to death when I even have to think about driving in bad weather.

What is your greatest accomplishment? Graduating with my Master's Degree

Well I hope you got to know me better! Thanks for visiting!!

Have a splendid day!

Girl Talk

Well...I had foot surgery yesterday and am at home sitting on my butt recovering so I am mildly excited that I have some time to actually blog YAY! I found this blog a while back but have not had time to participate and am excited about it!

Today's topic is What do you want to be?

1. What did you want to be when you grew up?

When I was a little girl I wanted to be a 1st grade teacher. I think mostly because my 1st grade teacher was awesome and I loved school as a little girl and loved playing school with my friends. I was a strange child :)

2. Did you go to school/get training to become that? If not what did you go to school/get training for?

Well, I started that way. My first semester freshman year my declared major was elementary education. Into my second semester I decided it was not what I wanted to do and I switched my major to secondary education English so I would teach high school instead and that is the degree I graduated with.

3. Are you currently using your degree/training now?

I will never use my bachelor's degree. I went on to Graduate School and got a Master's Degree in Higher Education Administration and work in that field currently as a coordinator of student activities at a community college.

4. If you could do it all again would you do it the same or would you want to be something different?
I would definitely do something different. When I was first thinking about going to college I always questioned if I wanted to be in education or communications. Obviously I chose education but continue to this day to want to go back to school and get a Master's in Communication as I would love to work in the event planning/corporate world :)
