Blogger Award :)

Jen from...From A to Z My Life as a "D" nominated me for a blog award!
Thanks so much!
The Tucci’s

This award is the called the 7 facts/Versatile Award where you list 7 facts about yourself :)

So here at my 7 Random facts...hope they are some things you don't already know!

1. I was born and raised in the snow belt but am absolutely terrifed of driving in the snow. I used to not even get in a car with someone else driving if the roads were bad, now I have no choice. I am known to arrange my whole life around the weather. Sad, but true.

2. I am a Delta Zeta Alum. Joining DZ was the best decision I ever made in my whole life. There is not one second that goes by that I don't miss my sisters more than they possibly know. Being a Delta Zeta has made me who I am today and has brought many wonderful people and opprotunities into my life

3. I never watch college basketball until March Madness (this is so random). The past 3 years I have been in a pool with all of Josh's friends and 2 years in a row I came in 2nd place twice beating all the boys but one! Wahoooooo! Can't wait for it this year :)

4. I love the Cleveland Indians no matter what their record is. Can not wait til opening day!

5. I a so excited to be a bridesmaid in one of my sorority sister's wedding this summer :) She lives in Maryland so I am making it a little vacation and stopping in DC because I have never been there before (and it will finally check something off my 30 before 3o list...which I have been majorly slacking on)

6. Josh and his family keep trying to turn me into a Steeler's fan. Josh even bought me a Steeler's fleece for Christmas. I do cheer for them and hope they win the Super Bowl this week but in the deepest part of my heart I will always hope for a Browns win, if nothing else for my Grandpa

7. Lastly, I am currently doing Weight Watchers online. I had been doing it on my own since May but with all the new changes decided to commit to the online system. It is quite different but I am liking it so far. Since May I am down 30 lbs and never ever ever ever thought I would be able to say that.

I am giving this to all my followers, because I would love to know more about YOU!!

Top 2 Tuesday

Top 2 things you have learned about friendship

Due to my unexpected snow day today I actually have time to blog! This is my first top 2 Tuesday and what a great topic!

I have been so blessed to have wonderful friends but as I grow up I am continuing to learn more and more about true friendship.

1. Being a friend and having a friend takes work on both ends

I have friends all over the country and we are all very busy with our own lives but in order to maintain those friendships it is important to work on them all the time. Whether it's making sure to call at least once a month, sending cards in the mail, chatting on facebook or anything that lets them know you are thinking of them.

My bestie Kristen and I try to talk at least every other week on the phone most times when one of us is driving to or from home.

But sometimes is just about being there when they need you.

2. Friendship knows no age

I have truly found that age is not a factor in friendship. My 5 year old sister is honestly one of my best friends, sometimes our conversations make no sense but she is still one of the best people I know. Also, on the other end I work with some women who are old enough to be my mother and I find those friendships invaluable as well.

And of course, it is perfectly wonderful to be friends with your mother.

Bathroom Redo

So randomly I went to Target on Friday and bought all new bathroom stuff. I have been desperately searching for a new shower curtain that I liked and found on on target.com and of course it was out of stock but I found it at our store here in town

I had won an American Express gift card from a 5K we did so I used it (operation try and save $) and I think it made such a difference. I love it!

The before

(I feel like such a weirdo putting pics of my bathroom on the Internet)

The After

It might not look like that big of a difference but I feel like it looks sooooo much nicer. There is only so much you can do when you live in an apartment and can't paint the walls or change the tile.

This picture is for my mom. Cause I told her I hung up some birds in the bathroom and I think she thought I was crazy but they are just so cute.

So there was my random Friday night Extreme Bathroom Makeover :)

These are my confessions...

I am "borrowing" Ashley's idea and doing some confessions today...hope she doesn't mind :)

  • I hate eating lunch at my desk which is what I am currently doing since my lunch friend at work isn't here today :(
  • I am already so over winter and this cold weather...these week has been terrible weather wise and I just want it to be spring already
  • In regards to weather, I am so incredibly scared to drive in the snow and I think that people who think they can make jokes about it in front of me need to be punched
  • I tried out a new church last weekend while my mom was visiting and I loved it. I can't wait to go again this weekend!
  • I need some new Netflix recommendations...we already watched the whole "Pushing Daisies" series and now Josh is stuck on "Dead Like Me" and I think its a very strange show and just can't get into it
  • I think I would die without Coke Cherry Zero
  • Went to a new foot doctor this weekend and it looks like surgery is in my near future..just need to pick a week to take off work (sounds way easier than it is)
  • My blog is seriously lacking and I know it. I just feel like I am in a serious rut and can't get out of it.

Hope you have a great weekend!

A Strong Woman vs A Woman of Strength

I saw this on Bethany Joy Galeotti's Blog (she plays Hayley on One Tree Hill)

A strong woman works out everyday to keep her body in shape...but a woman of strength builds relationships to keep her soul in shape

A strong woman isn't afraid of anything...but a woman of strength shows courage in the midst of fear

A strong woman won't let anyone get the better of her...but a woman of strength gives the best of herself to everyone

A strong woman makes mistakes and avoids the same in the future...a woman of strength realizes life's mistakes can also be unexpected blessings and capitalizes on them

A strong woman wears a look of confidence on her face but a woman of strength wears grace

A strong woman has faith that she is strong enough for the journey...but a women of strength has faith that it is in the journey that she will become strong

The post in which I complain about our apartment

Ok Y'all (nope I am not from the south just found it fitting lol)

In my Christmas post I talked about all the heating element gifts we got for gifts and now I am going to explain why my family buys me heaters and blankets for the holiday.

We live in a rather nice apartment complex, and pay a pretty penny to live here. I knew the second we pulled into the complex that I wanted to live here so bad. It has a pool, a work out room, I feel safe, we have great, wonderful neighbors that live below us and we are right in the hub of town. There are no joke 4 grocery stores within a 2 mile radius of our apartment.

Ok enough of the happy stuff lol.

Our apartment is FREEZING cold. This summer I had to fight and fight for the air conditioning to get fix, the a/c ran and ran and ran for hours on end. Now our heat refuses to actually heat the house....it's a little frustrating.

We went and bought plastic for the windows, it didn't help.

We are still in the process of politely arguing our way with the rental office to get some sort of solution but I am doubtful. But it is cold...like I sleep with 3 shirts on, 3 blankets and I shiver when I get out of the shower...not a good time.

We sorta think our landlord is just going to let us out of our lease so he can get rid of us but I am in no mood to even think about moving in the middle of winter, nor do we have anywhere to go.

So in a nutshell my family isn't crazy when they buy us random heating devices for Christmas, we are just in fact...cold

Happy New Year!

As I drove the 2 hours from my Dad's house to our apartment yesterday I really tried to think about how I felt about 2010. All in all it wasn't much to write home about but I feel like I have more recollection of the bad than the good, but I think that's pretty common.

I do make New Year's Resolutions..sometimes I stick to them sometimes I don't.

I am continuing my three resolutions from 2010, not because I didn't stick with them but just think they are overall good ways to live: Be healthier, save money, continue to give back and volunteer.

But on that lovely drive yesterday I thought of an addition to the list: try harder.
I think there are a lot of areas in my life that just happen without a whole lotta effort.

I want to try harder at work and put more effort into being the best I can be for the students
I want to try and be a better friend. I think that Facebook and texting makes it so easy to know what is going on with people without calling or actually talking to them.
I want to try harder at fostering my relationships with a lot of people
and just try harder to be a good woman that my parents can be proud of.

I think 2011 has a lot of wonderful things in store for us and hope for you too!
